- Pepsi Twist, a version of Pepsi and Diet Pepsi with a twist of lemon, has been
rolling out across the United States since late-October. Premiering this week, a
new national ad playfully invites variety-conscious consumers to try "a
little twist on a great thing." The new spot, "Disguise," featuring Pepsi girl Hallie Eisenberg
with unexpected appearances by TV and film actors Halle Berry and Barry Bostwick,
fuses live action and computer-generated imagery in a series of performer and
product identity twists - all in 30 whimsical seconds. "Pepsi Twist has tested phenomenally well over the past two summers,
with regular and diet each outperforming our expectations," said Dave
Burwick, senior vice president of carbonated brands for Pepsi-Cola North
America. "Consumers have told us they wanted more of it in more places more
of the time. We've responded by making regular and diet Pepsi Twist a permanent
part of our national product mix, and we're giving it the marketing and media
weight it deserves." Created by Pepsi's longtime advertising agency, BBDO New York, Pepsi Twist's
first national TV spot will air on ABC, CBS, FOX, MTV, ESPN and other networks.
Dedicated Internet advertising and point-of-purchase materials also are backing
its rollout. Pepsi Twist is available in a wide range of single-serve and
take-home packages wherever Pepsi products are sold. Celebrity Facts Award-winning actress Halle Berry made a splash in her latest film,
"Swordfish," and recently finished production on the upcoming film
"Monster Ball." A veteran of film, TV and theater, Barry Bostwick now
is keeping City Hall on its toes as the Mayor on ABC's "Spin City." In
addition to appearing in a string of movies including "The Insider,"
"Bicentennial Man" and "Beautiful," Pepsi girl Hallie
Eisenberg is making her Broadway debut this month in "The Women." Pepsi Twist is a product of Purchase, NY-based Pepsi-Cola Company (www.pepsi.com),
a division of PepsiCo, Inc. (www.pepsico.com).
Its other brands in the United States include Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi ONE,
Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew Code Red, Sierra Mist, Mug, Slice, Wild Cherry Pepsi,
Aquafina, FruitWorks, Dole single-serve juices and SoBe. The company also makes
and markets North America's best-selling brands of ready-to-drink iced tea and
coffee, respectively, via joint ventures with Lipton and Starbucks. # # #
